Back To School

To start Dobie did recover well from his surgery. He was up and running within a week.
Everyone started school last week. Dobie and Pepper are each at a new school starting this year and doing very well. Michael started Greek this semester. We will see if he survives!
We are still having one thing after another come up with the van, but hopefully if we wait it out we will be able to get another one, or finally get that one completely refurbished! It is very frustrating to have something that is so expensive to replace CONTSTANTLY breaking and weird things that no one knows how to fix. anyways off my rant about over inflated vehicles!!! :)

What God has done

Exodus 22:22-24“You shall not mistreat any widow or fatherless child. If you do mistreat them, and they cry out to me, I will surely hear their cry, and my wrath will burn.”

Deuteronomy 10:17-21 For the LORD your God is God of gods.He administers justice for the fatherless and the widow, and loves the stranger, giving him food and clothing."

Psalm 68: 4-6 "Father of the fatherless and protector of widows is God in his holy habitation."

Isaiah 1:17 "Seek justice, rebuke the oppressor, defend the fatherless, plead for the widow."

Upcoming events

Just wanted to let anyone know that Dobie will be having surgery this Friday. The doctors have decided that it would be best for him to get his tonsils and adenoids out to help prevent his continual strep throat infections. Please pray for him to not be nervous, for the doctors to take their time and the hand of God to be on the doctors and nurses as the perform this procedure. As we know the almighty I AM is the great physician. Dobie is a little nervous now about the whole thing. We will be at the children's hospital that day if anyone would like to come see him. Not sure exactly what time yet. Our youngest had his out at 1 year old, so I am not really worried and hoping it will give him some needed rest and relief.

Another haircut

Well the mohawk did not last too long. He decided to have it all shaved off like dad last week. I cannot believe how it makes him look like a big boy, a totally different kid even.

Baby no longer

Well I must admit I cried last night after seeing my sweet baby boy with his big boy haircut. At first he just looked like his older brother but after a second glance it was definitely the youngest. So today they put burnt orange hair "glue" to get the full mohawk effect. Now we will just laugh at all the crazy looks we get. Even today some of our neighbors backing out of their drive went around the block and came back to sit in the road and take a hard look at this little boy with the crazy hair while we walked to the park. I would say that is the most interesting part of letting the kids express themselves with their hairstyles. Everyone else's reactions. For the record, no one talked him into this. He wanted it all on his own. Although he is following in the footsteps of one of his older brothers who has that cool guy persona and had a mohawk when he was 4 also. After seeing some teenagers sporting one he decided he should get his own cool do. Now the youngest follows his older brother in sporting outrageous hair styles.

Birthday Blast

Turning Thirty

Well last week was my thirtieth birthday. I did not really freak out or anything. Although, it seems better to handle spelled out! I just wanted to have a fun exciting day. I really desired a party. Which my husband refused. So my friends at work stepped up and gave me a wonderful surprise lunch party. The day started coming to work on a Monday morning walking around the corner of my office to find a grass skirt hanging in the door. Then a path of tropical flowers from the door to my desk. With a hanging metallic palm tree above the desk and other strings of stone faces and flowers hung from the ceiling. Behind me was a big Happy Birthday sign. To top it off a BRIGHT yellow straw hat, which I did sport all day! To trick me over to the potluck lunch was a poor little girl who locked herself out of her office and needed help taking some paper to an office across the street in a different building on campus. After unlocking her door and no one being there to jump out I was relieved and completely caught off guard once we reached the paper drop off to be yelled SURPRISE to by all my coworkers. All in all it was a great birthday. The Hawaiian decor stayed up all week.
That evening my husband got off work early and took the family out for ice cream.

The New Year

Well a lot has gone on since I last posted. Not that I really have much to say now. We went to stay with family for Christmas and everyone ended up getting sick. It was a nice visit. Again at New Years everyone was sick. Then the busiest time of preparing for a new semester hit. For Michael it is busy with new classes and for me working at the school it is the most hectic time. We decided to forgo piano lessons until after baseball season. Just holding out hope they will get to play in a league this year. Then the youngest turned 4. So Granny and Papa came to visit. Meanwhile the minivan we drive continuously wants to break down. Which is what happens when you finally get a vehicle paid off. It must be the conspiracy of the auto makers.
February came and went. We had more family come down in the middle of the busiest weekend we have had ever it seems. Looking at March there will be a week there around spring break that will be full, however mostly I hope things will be cooling off. One set of friends are moving, then another just had a baby and we desire to go visit them all that same week. Also in the midst of all that stress I am trying to lose about 40 lbs, and it seems like that is working against me. We will persevere! I would just love for the drama to subside. :)
